Using the Bible to prove one's point

I received this in an email today. It is an newspaper clipping from several years ago. So many of these verses are taken out of context. It is quite sad.

What are some ways we use the Bible to prove our own opinions and views and try to bind them on others?

It's all good to use lots of slang... totally.
2Sam 12:7 "You the man!"

Your body is the temple of God, thus cigarettes and alcohol are inherently sinful. But soda and junk food is OK.
1Cor 6:19 "Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit."

God works in mysterious ways.
Paul 2:16

Cleanliness is next to godliness.
Lev 28:10
